The Area/Camping

2017 Race Camping is FREE this year!

RGC Rattlers, who are the race beneficiaries, will be handling check-in and campsite placement but all sites are FREE to racers for the entire weekend and first-come-first serve basis.  Solo riders will be given priority for lower camp sites along the race route (2,3,&4 plus the overflow parking lot).  Be prepared to make friends – campsites will be shared! All RV’s and trailers will be parked along the south side of the main entrance road just southeast of the race course (see image below).    The Penitente Canyon campground does not have any water options – there is a well house located along CR 38A near the entrance to the canyon, but we suggest bringing plenty of H2O to your campsite.  Check-In will be available beginning at 9:00am on Friday, October 13th.  Below is a map of the camping area, and maps will also be available upon check-in.
